Planning
Planning is based around demands. The Sales Order Processing and Estimating modules link to Planning to allow you to create demands. In Planning the Make to Stock and Sales Forecasts modules also create demands.
You do not have to plan a project, but it helps in the manufacturing process if you do.
There are four modules in planning:
-
Make to Stock.
Plan production to add items to stock. These are items that are not required for sales.
-
Sales Forecasts.
Plan production to create demands with a consideration for potential sales.
-
Plan production considering all demands in the system and construct an inventory of work that needs to be done to meet the demands.
-
This looks at the inventory of work created by MPS Master Production Schedule (MPS). The planning of production (usually end item production), to satisfy current and forecast sales orders. The sum of MPS items must equal the agreed sales and operations plan for the items over each planning period. Planning periods are normally a month or a four week period. Items planned within MPS are exploded by MRP (Materials Requirements Planning) to produce the material and capacity requirements.. It generates recommendations for buying or making stock, in order to meet demands.
